Alix T. Cassagnol

Homeland Consulting Group Founder and CEO, Alix Cassagnol has a strong background both as an educator and as a decorated officer with the NYPD.

Before he explored law enforcement, Alix was an elementary school teacher in Southeast Queens. The few years he spent in the classroom were rewarding, however, a persistent theme kept arising in his day-to-day work. Alix found that his students’ academic performance was correlated directly to the security they felt inside and around their school building.

After a few years of teaching, Alix shifted to a career in law enforcement. He quickly found himself in a familiar environment. He was drafted to an elite detail created by then-Mayor Bloomberg to lower violence in the city’s schools. He thrived as an IMPACT officer; where his analytical approach to school safety and strong communication skills in dealing with administrators and families kept him in high demand at some of the toughest sites in the city. Alix obtained an Advanced Certificate and Master’s Degree in Homeland Security Management at LIU and soon after joined the NYPD’s elite Counter Terrorism Division. There he became a certified Federal and State instructor. He also learned the art of surveillance and counter-surveillance as a member of the Hostile Surveillance Detection Team. He later on became a Maritme Boat captain and performed Counter Terrorism patrols around New York and New Jersey Waterways.

 Alix was promoted to Detective before he retired. Currently, Alix is an active member of a trauma response team with critical incident stress management qualifications.
